David Coverdale is regarded by the whole rock and roll community as a Robert Plant clone, especially by Led Zeppelin fans. And he is. He looks like Plant, he dresses like Plant, he moves on stage like Plant, and he tries to sing like Robert Plant. Worse, he even made an album with Jimmy Page! Which is this album. I have never been a fan of Coverdale. I do like his music that made it to mainstream with White Snake, and with Deep Purple. But this album is awesome… It has killer riffs. And the voice does go well with the music. It is heavy, hard bluesy rock and roll, as you would expect. And it even generated a hit in “Shake My Tree", (BTW, Robert Plant sung it when he teamed up with Page in 95). In my opinion, this is the best post Zep album by Jimmy Page. I particularly enjoy “Pride and Joy”, it reminds me of Coda’s “Poor Tom”.
