Blues Singer
Blues Singer
Buddy Guy’s music is new to me… I knew of him because he has been a reference, an
influence to the musicians I listen to. He was awarded the Kennedy Center Honors
by President Obama the same day that Led Zeppelin and David Lettermen were. And
when Carlos Santana received the same honors the following year, Buddy Guy played
tribute to his disciple. But it wasn’t until I saw him live in Pala, CA, opening
for Jeff Beck, that I truly appreciated his music. He has such a great voice, so
soulful. You have to listen to this album, it’s just extraordinary. He’s
definitely a Blues Singer. This album is a tribute to another blues legend: John Lee Hooker..
